Contests are open to all attendees and vendors; there is no additional fee to enter (with the exception of the table games that require banquet ticket purchase). Show organizers cannot enter or win any contests, however they may purchase and participate in the paid charity raffle.
There is NO MAXIMUM on how many people may enter a contests but each person is limited to ONE entry per contest.
Contest Drop OFF - Saturday 10:30AM-11:30AM, Sunday 9:30AM-10:30AM for best advantage, please bring your doll both days - Dolls MUST be picked up at the end of each day. Resin rose is NOT responsible for any dolls left in the convention area overnight.
Contest Pick UP - Saturday 5:15PM, Sunday 4:45PM
Winners Announced - Sunday during Closing Ceremonies.
Winners will be determined by votes of the attendees and organizers; ballots will be included with your Membership or vendor badge packet.

9. Contest voting times will be from 11:30AM-5:15PM on Saturday and 10:30AM-4:45PM on Sunday, *

Costume ContestCostume Contest Rules –
1. The Costume Contest is based on the theme- must be one of our previous themes, or the overall theme for this year of Birthday. If you have a question about your entry being eligible, please contact us at [email protected] 2. Costume entries must be fully handmade by you (exception for shoes, eyes and wig) 3. Dolls must be displayed securely in a stand or chair. No Backgrounds/Backdrops, room boxes or other large scale props allowed. The focus must remain on WORN items. Resin Rose is not responsible for damages if your doll/head/prop isn’t secured properly. Costume Contest displays may not exceed a 2' x 2' space. 4. Descriptions or small reference photos can be used but not required. (Highly recommended, especially for obscure themes/ideas) 5. Costume entries will be judged on creativity, execution and overall quality. All work must be your own. 6. There are no size categories, all entries will be judged equally. Photography ContestPhotography Contest Rules 1. Photo contest IS NOT THEMED! 2. Photo must be taken by you. 3. Photo must be in its original state. You may use basic editing for touch ups like sharpening, color corrections, lighting corrections, B&W, etc. Photos may not be AI generated or have AI effects. 4. Photos may not be shared publicly before Resin Rose BJD Expo. 5. Photos must be submitted in advance to [email protected]. 6. Photos will be printed by Resin Rose BJD Expo and must be large enough to be printed out in an 8” x 10” or 10” x 8” size. Photos will be displayed in an acrylic holder. 7. This is an all-ages show, nudity, gratuitous gore and use of blood should be limited. 8. You can provide a small description of your photo (not required). 9. Resin Rose will need a minimum of 5 entries to hold the contest. 10. We will only be accepting 12 Photo contest Entries. This will be first come first serve. The will not be prejudged. Face-Up ContestFace-up Contest Rules –
1. Face-up Contest must be one of our previous themes, or the overall theme for this year of Birthday. A list of our previous themes can be found on our Website 2. Face-ups will be judged on creativity, execution and overall quality. Please keep in mind that this is an all-ages show, gratuitous gore and use of blood should be limited. All work must be your own. 3. Descriptions or small reference photos can be used but not required. (Highly recommended) 4. Heads may be presented on a full doll (must be dressed and in a stand, or seated) or on a bust/headstand. Dimensions of stand or seat may not exceed a 1' x 1' space. 5. Wigs and eyes may also be displayed but the head must be on a bust/doll/head stand in that case. 6. If a head is entered without a stand, it must be displayed with the head cap off and upside down so that it will not roll off the table. Prop ContestProp Contest Rules – 1. The prop contest is based on one of our previous themes, or the overall theme for this year of Birthday. (Prop must be based on something related to one of our previous themes OR Birthday related). If you have a question about your entry being eligible, please contact us at [email protected]. Please visit our website to see more information on previous themes. 2. Prop entry must be in a scale useable by BJDs (1/3, 1/4 or 1/6, etc) that are a singular item (ex; A mermaid's Trident), or a set of grouped items (ex; Beach ball, water floaties, and a beach towel). 3. Prop entry must be fully handmade by you and cannot include pre-existing store-bought props. This also includes 3D printed models/assets created by someone else. 4. Props must be displayed. No backgrounds/backdrops, room boxes or dioramas allowed. Focus must be on the prop item it's self. Props must be secured to your doll or displayed in a way that prevents the item from rolling/falling off the display table. Resin Rose is not responsible for damages if your doll/head/prop isn’t secured properly. Prop display may not exceed a 2.5' x 2.5' space. 5. At the show contests that do not need pre-registration
Friday Night Table games
Table games are for the Friday night banquet attendees. Each table will be asked a series of questions, or instructed to play a small game of chance (random number, trivia, RPS, match 3 to win scratch cards) one person at each table will be declared a winner!
Only 3-day pass holders or those who have purchased the optional banquet pass may participate.

Scavenger Hunt
Scavenger hunt returns for a 6th year!
Search the even spaces (vendor hall, class rooms, check-in areas, etc) for info cards with riddles or clues. find them all to be entered into the scavenger hunt drawing! All completed entries with the correct answer will be placed into a drawing on Sunday night at the closing ceremony. The winner will be randomly chosen from that pool.

Coloring Page Contest
Color a page to be entered in a mini raffle!
A page and crayons will be provided. Pages must be turned in by end of day on Sunday at the contest station (where the prop, costume and other contests are)
All submissions will be entered into a random drawing pool and the winner will be drawn at the Sunday closing ceremony
