Learn how to create simple but elegant jewelry pieces for your dolls using jewelry wire, chains, and beads. You can attend to simply learn/watch, but you can also purchase a kit, or bring your own kit, for a more hands on experience. If participants would like to bring their own kit, here is a recommended supply list: 26 or 28 gauge jewelry wire, chain, lobster claws, jump rings, beads (gemstone, glass, plastic) in 2, 3, or 4 mm size, pliers, wire cutters, needle nose pliers. - Fee: $60 for kit (tools, chain, wire, beads, etc.). Explore the emotional and creative side of the BJD hobby. Professional Counselor Associate, Shannon Gentry, will discuss therapeutic concepts related to BJDs. She will cover how they provide healing, a sense of identity, and help with emotional regulation, as well as the shadow side of the collecting hobby. BJD Couture Speed Race by FunnyLori This is a game where players will be tasked with creating an outfit for their doll with the unconventional materials provided in about 45 minutes. At some point a twist will be introduced and players must adapt to the new conditions of the challenge. The rules are arbitrary and the points don't matter, but I promise it will be fun. Crochet Masterclass and Roundtable by Mischief Maker This workshop/lecture invites fiber artists of all skill levels to learn tips and tricks for working with finer yarns and achieving fun, new looks for your dolls. Topics covered will include: appropriate yarn/hook pairings for various projects, using vintage patterns for modern dolls, and tips on using human-scale patterns to inspire doll garments. Google form for submissions Making 3D Printed Horns by Trash Panda Prints This class is a basic introduction to 3D sculpting on Nomad, using simple horn styles and positioning of magnet slots as a general introduction to horn making. There will also be a brief explanation of how to print for the best results and some preprinted horns will be offered for simple customization. Horns will already be cured and sprayed with MSC - gloss liquid and matt finishes will be offered to sealed the horns. Magnets and glue will also be provided and you will be shown how to install them. Participants are welcome to bring in their preferred dry brushes, otherwise, some will be provided. - Class limit of 25. Fee: $5 for materials and printing costs.
